Konstantinos Matthaiou ( Kotsos Kokkinos)
Born 29/9/1982 Athens
Graduate of the Department of Theater Studies (EKPA); since childhood, he attended classical guitar studies at the National Conservatory of Chalandri and went on to obtain a degree in Harmony and Counterpoint at the Amphithea Conservatory while at the same time attending vocal studies(modern and classical singing) and music technology courses at the Amarousio Municipal Conservatory. In 2009, he completed the contractual studies of voice, piano, Music Theory, and Modern Harmony on the musical idiom of Jazz and improvisation, at the Jazz Department of the Athenaum Conservatory with professors such as Sylvio Syrros, Artemis Bogri, Manos Theodosakis, Yiannis Papanastasiou.
In 2007 he attended an extensive Jazz music seminar in Italy held from the New School for Jazz&Contemporary Music in New York. He participates in the music groups Patenta Device, Sourloulou, Ziziroi, which are based on the traditional music of the Eastern Mediterranean but with apparent influences from modern music (electro, rock, pop).
He deals with the composition and writing of his own songs, but also with the editing and composition of music for theater performances such as <<12 Night and Half>> (Theatrical Group -Theatrinon Theates-), <<The Blind>> (Theatrical Group -BlackDots -), <<Opera tis Pentaras>> (Anatolika tou Nestou).
He has worked as a theater teacher in public schools for 10 years, in children’s theater groups as an animator-director, and as a singing teacher in the modern art workshop <<To Spirto>>. He works steadily as a professional musician-singer with participation in festivals (Jazz Festival of Kalamata, Mesogiotopia Lesvos, 11th International Fairy Tale Festival of Kea, etc.) and music scenes in Greece. He is a multi-instrumentalist skilled in adequately using musical instruments: guitar, oud, piano, percussion, clarinet, Thracian bagpipe, and cabal.
